Hasbro's Mighty Muggs are cute collectibles, with a twist.
As the only in-house product designer on this project, my role was to develop the concept and vision, direct the sculptors and illustrators, design the packaging structure, ensure approval from licensors, collaborate with manufacturing partners, and chase down every last detail to assure a beautiful final product.
I designed the first two waves, 18 characters in all.
The brief: Hasbro wanted to compete with Funko Pop by introducing an expressive figure at $10, with a simple feature.
The team considered hundreds of concepts. Ultimately we settled on the idea of a figure with a spinning head. I built the first model (not shown), and the project was green-lit.
